Brother Pompian Honors Academy » Membership Requirements

Membership Requirements

Incoming freshmen who achieve a superior score on the Catholic High School Entrance Exam taken as an 8th grader in November are invited to join the BPHA. Additionally, any student with outstanding academic achievement during his freshman year may apply for BPHA admission. Students must apply for admission before the end of freshman year to be eligible for membership. All applications will be evaluated by the directors of the Academy and the school administration.

Transfer students may also join the BPHA. Transfer transcripts will be examined by the director of the academy on an individual basis.

Continued membership in the Brother Pompian Honors Academy is contingent on three areas: academics, extracurricular activities, and a senior project.

Requirements include:

  • Enrollment in a minimum of twelve honors/advanced classes throughout a student’s four years at SJCI.
  • Minimum GPA of 93+ for the year (junior and senior year)
  • Yearly participation in academic and cultural enrichment activities outside of the classroom.
  • Maintenance of a cumulative average of at least 90%.
  • Completion of a senior project and presentation.
