The Faith Journey

The foundation of the Lasallian educational mission is the spiritual development of students, rooted in the Catholic tradition. We provide the opportunity for each student to discover and navigate his personal faith journey during his four years with us, which for some boys begins freshman year.

We do all of this while embracing the spirituality and tradition of St. John Baptist de La Salle, a model for Christian service, charity, and the patron saint of all teachers. Through our Lasallian pedagogy and Campus Ministry programs, we are committed to walk alongside each young man on this journey that brings him closer to a relationship with God, with others, and with his community.

It is in this spirit that we are deliberate in our efforts to touch each student's head, heart, and hands.

  • Head (to know God): Students are enrolled in Religion class each year in order to wrestle with some of the big questions of faith and life. In addition, Campus Ministry creates a welcoming environment in which spiritual growth is encouraged, awakened, and nurtured for all members of our school community - students, faculty, staff, and parents.
  • Heart (to love God): The young men participate in rituals such as all-school liturgies and class retreats that provide a meaningful framework to the great mysteries of life.
  • Hand (to serve God): Annually, each student is required to use his physical gifts to complete community service. The majority of our students go over and beyond the twenty hour requirement, often utilizing St. Joe's sponsored service experiences.
