Teaching at any school is about the kids, but Mr. Schukraft '05 believes what makes St. Joe's so special is that it is a community that stands with its students and guides them through the important formative years. As a teacher, he finds it so empowering to know that the kids he is teaching are also being looked after by hardworking staff and administrators, an influential alumni network, and so many other dedicated educators.
"I've always viewed being a PE and Health teacher as a lifestyle instead of a profession. The time spent in the gym or classroom is just a part of what teaching Phys. Ed. or Health is about. Modeling a healthy lifestyle, being available for guidance or questions, and facilitating any student's quest for wellness is what I pride myself and my career on."
