Student Activities

Freshmen going on the NY City trip: There will be a meeting on Wednesday after break (April 23rd) during the schoolwide break from 10:15 to 10:30 a.m. in the Cullen Lecture Hall. The primary purpose of this meeting will be to choose roommates for the hotel, so all students should plan to attend. Students should see Mr. Quagliana with any questions.

Students are invited to join the Harry Potter Club for a round of Speed Trivia during the all-school break on Thursday, April 24, in Room 221. All Wizards and Muggles in the SJCI community are welcome to attend. 

The Eric J. Pitman “Ripples of Hope” Lecture Series invites students to an important presentation on Artificial Intelligence, on Tuesday, April 29 at 3.00 p.m. in the Cullen Center for the Arts. Our speaker will be David Castillo, Professor of Spanish and Co-director of the Center for Information Integrity at SUNY Buffalo. With the ever-growing presence of AI, understanding its possibilities and limitations, as well as its ethical use, has never been more pressing. Our talk will help students navigate through these tricky times. 

The Quill and Quiver Writing Group is pleased to announce that they are accepting submissions for the 2025 Brother Paul Writing Contest. Any student is welcome to submit original written works. The categories for this year are as follows: Poetry (short and long), Essay, Journalism, Flash Fiction, Short Story, Memoir and Research Essay. Submissions are due by Wednesday, April 30. Students should see Mrs. Crounse in Room 221 for any additional information.

The Lasallian Leadership Team is now accepting applications from interested sophomores and juniors. LLT members are the Campus Ministry student leaders here at St. Joe's. They play important leadership roles in retreats, liturgies, food drives and all Campus Ministry activities. Completed applications are due to Mr. Specht by Friday, May 2nd.
