Shout Outs!

The SJCI Alumiboti Robotics Team competed at the FIRST Robotics Finger Lakes Regional in Rochester over the weekend. With a match record of 5-3-1, they showcased their grit and determination on the competition field by winning five in a row to finish their seeding matches after their robot had a slow start. Congratulations to the Team and team moderators, Mr. Tim Hensel and Mr. Pat Wick, for representing our school with excellence! We would also like to thank our volunteer team of engineering consultants: Brian Schmidt '96, Dan Starner '15, Matt Hofmeister (past parent), Katie Spoth, John Wick and Joe Neidlinger.

I’d also like to recognize students from the Equity & Justice Club who traveled to Montgomery, Alabama, to explore the impactful work of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), a nonprofit dedicated to advancing racial justice and criminal justice reform. This educational journey included visits to the Legacy Museum, National Memorial for Peace and Justice and Freedom Monument Sculpture Park, where students gained a deeper understanding of the history of racial inequality in the United States—from slavery and lynching to mass incarceration. This immersive experience reflects our club’s commitment to raising awareness and inspiring activism on critical social justice issues.
