Student Activities

International Microloans of Buffalo will be sponsoring a fundraiser next week. IMB is a student-run organization that assists entrepreneurs in developing countries through small loans. Recent Microloans were sent to individuals in Tajikistan, Ecuador, and the Philippines. Members of the IMB will be selling "Glow in the Dark" green wristbands for $2.00 a piece.  Bands may be purchased each morning before homeroom and during the 15-minute break in Room 222. All proceeds will go directly to IMB so they can continue to give out loans to those in need around the world. Students should see Mr. Stewart with questions.

The Eric Pitman Annual Summer Workshop in Computational Science will take place from June 30 to July 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the University at Buffalo Center for Computational Research (701 Ellicott St.).  Eric Pitman was a freshman at St. Joe’s when he passed away after a brief illness in 2007.  This workshop honors Eric’s passion for science by providing students with hands-on experience in topics such as bioinformatics, genome sequencing, and high-performance computing.  There is no cost to attend, and lunch is provided.  Click here for more information and registration.

The Buffalo-Dortmund Youth Ambassador Program is looking for St. Joe's families to host German students from August 23 - December 6, 2025. The program includes excursions like rafting in Letchworth, the high ropes course in Ellicottville, Niagara Falls, and more. It is led by our own German and Spanish teacher, Amy Hardy. This is a great program for any student, not just those learning German. Check out their YouTube channel for host family and student testimonials.
