Frank Waclawek ’77 is hosting a blood drive fundraiser for the Alison Rose Foundation.
This foundation was established by his son, Justin Waclawek ‘07, in memory of his late wife, Alison, who passed away during the birth of their daughter, Ada, in 2019. The foundation’s mission is to support research on amniotic fluid embolisms (AFE), the condition that led to Alison’s passing, and to assist families facing similar challenges.
To date, the Alison Rose Foundation has donated over $250,000 to various organizations and helped collect more than 300 units of blood—19 of which were used to attempt to save Alison’s life during Ada’s birth.
The blood drive is scheduled for February 22 at Daemen University’s College of Health Professions gym from 9am – 4pm.
