Basketball - Starts the season ranked #1 in WNY
The St. Joe’s basketball team entered the season as the top-ranked squad in Western New
York—and they’ve lived up to the billing. With a 13-3 record as of January 29, the
Marauders have showcased their talent and depth, positioning themselves as strong
contenders for a deep run in the Monsignor Martin playoffs.

Hockey Trip to New York
The Federation hockey team hit the road after Christmas for a challenging slate of games
in New York, facing off against top-tier competition, including Northern Highlands—the
reigning 2024 New Jersey state champions—along with Iona Prep and Chaminade. During
their time in the Hudson Valley, the team took part in a youth leadership tour at the
United States Military Academy at West Point. While on post, they had the opportunity to
observe Army hockey’s practice at Tate Rink and visit notable landmarks such as the Cadet
Chapel, The Plain, and Trophy Point.

The trip concluded with a visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Midtown Manhattan, followed
by a stop at the iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, capping off an unforgettable
experience both on and off the ice.

Swim - 1st win for new coach, St Joe’s over Canisius
Christopher Signore secured his first win as head coach of the swimming program in an
exciting 87-83 victory over Grand Island. The team delivered a strong performance with
eight first-place finishes, led by standout swims from Jack Baxter, Stephen Fattey, Nate
Reinman, and Gabriel Pawelczyk. Alongside the victories, multiple swimmers posted
personal and season-best times, setting a strong foundation for the season.

Building on that momentum, the squad followed up Coach Signore’s debut win with a
statement victory over Canisius, marking the team's first win over their rival in a
considerable time. It was a dominant effort across the board as the team kicked off their
league season with a crucial rivalry win.

Freshman Stephen Fattey impressed with first-place finishes in the 50 Freestyle and 100
Butterfly, while Matthew Cwiklinski delivered a strong showing, first in the 200 IM and
third in the 100 Butterfly. Sophomores Nate Riemann and Jaxen Pyc played key roles,
combining for 22 points, while senior Samir Boussag continued his red-hot form,
achieving two lifetime-best swims.
