40th Annual Debate

Since 1984, St. Joe’s has proudly hosted political debates for various offices, including Mayor, Congress, County Executive, New York State Senate, and Sheriff. On October 24, we hosted our 40th annual student-led debate for Erie County District Attorney, featuring Republican candidate James Gardner and Democratic incumbent Michael Keane.

Under the guidance of Mr. Lina, our AP Government students took charge of the debate by thoroughly researching each candidate, crafting thoughtful questions, moderating the discussion, fact-checking responses, and managing the timing throughout. Their hard work made the event a great success!

No Shave November

Starting Wednesday, October 30, the Student Council will collect $25 from any

student who wants to participate in No Shave November. This year, No Shave

November will last from October 30 through November 26.

For the third year in a row, the Student Council has decided to donate the money to the One Last Goal Foundation, a non-profit helping students and athletes who

struggle with their mental health, raise awareness about brain damage, and aid in

the enormous challenge of suicide prevention.
