Memoir
My name is Mark Zirnheld ’78, a lifelong Western New York resident and the father of Edward Zirnheld ’11. I have always enjoyed being associated with St. Joe’s but really became involved as a volunteer when my son decided to attend “the Collegiate”. What he and my entire family experienced during his 4 years on Kenmore Avenue made an incredible impression on us all. We watched him thrive in the care of the staff at St. Joe’s, growing into a thinking, caring, responsible young man with friends that he truly views as his brothers. I reflected on how my own life was affected in much that way during my time at St. Joe’s and wanted to do whatever I could to make that opportunity available to young men and their families for years to come. My Marauder Moment was realizing one such avenue would be getting involved with the school’s Alumni Association, a group which I now serve as President.
