Mock Trial

St. Joe's is one of 25 schools from across Western New York that compete in Mock Trial.  The team is coached by Mr. Lomeo '07 and alumnus Ryan Mura Esq. '07 .

 

All schools are assigned the same NYS Court Case at the end of November and compete against each other in the tournament in February. Students will analyze witness testimony, write direct and cross examination questions on the behalf of the defendant and plaintiff, synthesize objections and create opening and closing court statements. Teams practice both sides of the case: plaintiff and defendant and argue the case in front of an actual WNY judge at Buffalo City Court House.

 

Practices are held Monday through Thursday 2:35pm-4:30pm in December, January, and February.
