About Dr. Thompson
Began her career at St. Joe's in 2022
Education: BA in French, SUNY Fredonia; MA and PhD in Literature and Literary Translation, the University of Texas at Dallas
Ms. Thompson hopes to get students engaged in the language-learning process and feeling connected with the subject. She says, "It's easy to think of a new language as a one-to-one trade-off where you're just learning new vocabulary, but the way we assemble words and ideas is different in every language. Learning a new language means learning a new way of thinking."
"I'm excited to join SJCI because I have so much experience teaching at the college level and I'm ready for a new challenge! I was born and raised in Buffalo and I want to educate the next generation of people who will contribute to our city, state, and country."
