When a student is absent, late or has an early dismissal, a parent/guardian must contact the school office by 8 a.m. at 716-270-4300.  

• This practice should be repeated for each day that a student is absent.   
• Emails reporting student absences (sent to attendance@sjci.com) will only be accepted through verified parent/guardian email addresses.

When a student returns to school after an absence, he must bring a dated note signed by a parent/guardian stating both the date(s) and reason(s) for the absence.

• Parents must send an email from one of the parent/guardian email accounts on record with the main office to attendance@sjci.com, stating both the date(s) and reason(s) for the absence.
• Notes should be presented at the office of the Vice Principal for Students before the homeroom period begins.

When a student must be excused early, he should present a note to the Main Office before 8 a.m.

• Emails requesting early dismissal for a student will only be accepted through verified parent/guardian email addresses or phone numbers.  
• Emails can be sent to attendance@sjci.com. 

St. Joe’s uses SchoolMessenger, a trusted notification system, to communicate important information with families like school closures and important school announcements. There’s no registration required, and all contact information is kept strictly confidential and used only for school-related communications.

What You Can Expect

• Caller ID: Calls will appear from 716.309.4130 or 716.874.4024.

• Live Calls: When you answer, a brief pause will occur before the message begins. Just say “hello” and wait;  repeating it may delay the message.

• Voicemail: If your voicemail picks up, the full message will be played automatically.

• Attendance Notifications: If your son misses a required number of classes, you’ll receive a call that day. To avoid unnecessary alerts, please notify the school in advance if he’ll be late or absent.

• Text Messaging: Want quick updates by text? Just text Y or Yes to 67587 to opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying with Stop.
