Freshman Year

Sophomore Year

Junior Year

Marks a pivotal stage in the college planning process
Deepen academic focus while remaining active in extracurriculars
Begin thinking more intentionally about life after graduation
Take the PSAT/NMSQT and start preparing for standardized tests (SAT/ACT)
Collaborate with the Academic & College Advising team for individualized guidance
Explore a broad range of colleges, majors, and career paths
Participate in college fairs and campus visits
Learn about scholarships and financial aid
Continue building a strong, well-rounded college resume

Senior Year

At St. Joe’s, senior year is a focused and supportive time as students finalize their college plans. Highlights include:

Personalized guidance throughout the entire application process
Early-year focus on refining college lists, submitting applications and meeting deadlines
One-on-one support with essay writing, resume building and standardized testing requirements
Help understanding financial aid, scholarships and available resources
Opportunities to attend college fairs and speak directly with admissions representatives
Increased clarity and confidence as students make their final college decisions

Every September, students from local private high schools are invited to St. Joe's to connect with representatives from colleges and universities from around the country. We host this free event as a way for families to learn about colleges' academic and athletic programs, get helpful financial aid information and ask questions directly to admissions professionals.

This year's event was attended by more than 80 colleges, including:

Our college counselor knows there’s no better way to picture yourself at a school than to walk its campus. That’s why she takes students on tours to colleges of all shapes and sizes, so they can explore the grounds, sit in on info sessions and talk with current students. It’s a chance to get a real feel for a school and start imagining if it would be a fit for them.
