HISTORY OF ST. JOE'S SWIMMING

SwimmingSt. Joe’s swimming team began in 1975 under Coach Ron Lieb Swimming2and Moderator Angelo Ligotti, who would be a fixture of the team for 16 seasons. The team won their first Monsignor Martin championship in 1978, just their third year of existence. It was in the 1980’s, however, when the team began achieving notable success, winning six consecutive All Catholic titles. The team ran off another impressive string in the 1990’s with ten straight Monsignor Martin titles. The team has won eleven All Catholic titles, 17 Monsignor Martin League Championships, and has been ranked in the top ten in Western New York three times.
