St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute is an independent Roman Catholic college-preparatory school for young men, located in Buffalo, New York.  Established by the De La Salle Christian Brothers in 1861, it is the oldest school of its kind in Western New York with a formidable reputation for its tradition of excellence in athletics.

St. Joe's has won the Supremacy Cup a remarkable 31 times, a feat no other school has come close to matching.  Throughout the 60-year history of the Monsignor Martin League, St. Joe's has won 29 track & field championships, 26 cross-country championships, 22 football championships, and 20 soccer championships at the varsity level.  These successes have amalgamated into a tremendous source of pride for the school, its 13,000 active alumni and the surrounding Buffalo-Niagara communities.

In preparation for the celebration of its sesquicentennial anniversary in 2011, the St. Joe's Board of Trustees announced an ambitious capital campaign entitled Pride in our Past . . . Faith in our Future in May 2007, the centerpiece of which was a complete overhaul of the school's aged athletics facilities.

Construction of the artificial turf fields and all-weather track began on May 5, 2008 with plans to include playing surfaces where football, soccer, lacrosse, track and baseball could all take place simultaneously.  The new 183,961 square foot A-Turf field is a multi-purpose, all-weather synthetic playing surface, virtually unaffected by adverse weather conditions.  Using natural grass as its model, A-Turf's synthetic turf consists of a denser construction of polyethylene fibers and a high level of specialized rubber and sand mix to increase playability, provide optimal footing for athletes, and lower the G-Max rating (the lower the G-Max rating, the greater the shock absorption and less impact to the athlete).  Upon its completion in August 2008, the St. Joe's Board of Trustees unanimously passed a resolution to name the fields in honor of President/Principal Robert T. Scott, recognizing not only his years of service to the school (37 at that point), but also his determination and leadership of the capital campaign.  Fittingly, the Robert T. Scott, AFSC, Athletic Field Complex was the first completed capital project associated with the school's Pride in our Past . . . campaign.
