The John J. Barden Society of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute recognizes as members those people who have planned a future gift to support the mission of the school, and have made it known to the Advancement Office. Gifts recognized through the John Barden Society may include:
- Life Insurance policies
- Bequests in a Will
- Charitable Trusts
- Deferred gifts

The Board of Trustees of St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute established the John J. Barden Society in 1984. This Planned Giving Society was named after John for his 60 years of service to St. Joe’s (1923-1983). Along with the Christian Brothers, John’s dedication, loyalty and hard work helped St. Joe’s grow in academic excellence and stature- to where it is today, one of the best high schools in Western New York.
