INSTRUMENTAL WORKSHOPS FOR 2008-2009


 

 Thursdays,  October 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th, 2008 at 7:30 - 8:30pm in the Cullen Center for the Arts

JoeBrancato worked with piano and keyboard players on how to play with a lead sheet.

Joe Brancato is a respected educator in Western New York and active as a tutor/evaluator at Empire State College. He has recorded two CDs on the QRS label, When I Fall In Love and Broadway Revisited. In addition, Joe is also featured as a co-leader on the "Hidden Treasures" CD release from the Dave Schiavone/Joe Brancato Quartet.Joe performs all styles for any occasion.

 

stringsWednesdays,  Ongoing throughout the school year at 2:30pm in the Band Room

Nadia Nigrin works with string students to prepare performance pieces in a small ensemble.

Mrs. Nigrin is a professional violinist who works as a sub for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.  She assists Mr. Russ Owens with students in the Strings Ensemble.  She has played in the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra as 2nd violins concert master, is part of the Arts Nova Chamber Group, Slee Symphonetta, and works as a free-lance musician in Buffalo. Mrs. Nigrin also works with the String Ensemble at Sacred Heart Academy and often brings the two groups together for practice and performance.
