COLLEGE FINANCE PROGRAM FOR PARENTS

The Parent’s Guild will be sponsoring an informational program for parents who wish to educate themselves on how to fund their child’s college education costs.  This program will take place on October 21, 2008 at 7 p.m. in the St. Joe's Cullen Center for the Performing Arts. Guest speaker, Mark Morlock, a principal with Morlock & Company, LLC, will cover such topics as:

·       Pre-college savings options;
·       Determining your Financial Aid Profile and Expected Family Contribution;
·       The FAFSA process and timeline;
·       Understanding Tax Credits/Deductions;
·       A review of various types of aid such as Pell Grants, TAP, Stafford and
        Perkins Loans;
·       How scholarships impact financial aid packages;
·       How to evaluate and compare financial aid packages.

Additionally, Ambrose Price II from Citizens Bank, will discuss Parent Plus and other loans available for parents and students to finance a college education. Please join us and get the answers you need to feel comfortable with the college financial aid process.  This program is open to parents of students in all grades.
