The St. Joe's Artists in Residence program provides educational opportunities in the arts which go beyond what regular department staff members can offer, exposing students to the highest level of creative work with professional artists. These educational experiences fit in with the overall philosophy and goals of the school in the Lasallian tradition.
The Artists in Residence concept is not new to St. Joe's. It has always been our practice to bring in artists to present their art form and work, especially within the production of the Spring Musical. Over the past three years, St. Joe's has formalized the program under the umbrella of "Artists in Residence" to insure its continuance and offer more fine arts curriculum choices to students.
Artists in Residence work on various levels at St. Joe's as follows:
- Adjunct artist/teacher
- Artist/teacher assistant
- Visiting Artist
- Volunteer Artists/Teacher Assistants

We also have many professional fine arts groups visiting St. Joe's for performances and workshops.
Over the past few years we have had performance visits from Configuration Dance (professional dance troupe led by alumnus Joe Cipolla), and the Baldwin Wallace Choral Group, plus a host of professional artists doing workshops with our students.
