2017 Entrance Exam Prep Course

The St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Entrance Exam Prep Course is open to boys planning to apply to Catholic High Schools. Held at St. Joe's on Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to noon, the 2017 course will take place on the four weekends leading up to the Entrance Exam: October 21, October 28, November 4 and November 11.

The Entrance Exam for all Catholic High Schools will be held on November 18, 2017. St. Joe's will waive the exam fee ($20) for any boy enrolled in the Prep course who takes the Entrance Exam at St. Joe's.

A specialized curriculum to fit each grade level's needs. 

The St. Joe's Entrance Exam Prep Course is specifically designed to fit the individual study needs of boys in both 7th and 8th grade.
 
The 8th grade class emphasizes test taking strategies, including timed practice. An entrance exam review book is included with the course. All instructors are current St. Joe's faculty members.
 
The 7th grade curriculum will focus less on test-taking, and more on developing underlying skills which prepare students for academic success: reasoning skills, math problem solving, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. A practice exam will be given during the final session and a detailed score report will be mailed to parents after the completion of the course.

The cost of the course is $100 and includes 4 instructional sessions, a textbook and snack at each session. A check payable to St. Joe's must accompany the registration form. An early registration discount is available for all students who register by September 15, 2017. This must be paid at the time of registration and is not refundable for any reason.

Parents will receive an e-mail confirming registration. Classroom assignments will be mailed one week before the first class session.
