1950's

Robert E. Nesslin '54 has been awarded the Brian Shero Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award from Medaille College.  This is the highest award given by the college to a member of the full-time teaching faculty.

Paul F. Hutzler '55 has published a book entitled “History of Monsignor Martin Catholic High School Athletic Association Cross Country. His book is a complete history of league standings, All-Catholic Meet results, and All-Catholic runners from 1952 until present.

1970's

Donald R. McMahon '70 was featured in a Buffalo Business First article entitled “All CAD, All The Time.”  Don is a civil engineer with the Buffalo firm McMahon & Mann Consulting Engineers, P.C.

Daniel P. Schaefer '71 is one of the first ophthalmologists from the Western New York area to be inducted into the American Ophthalmological Society, the first medical specialty society in the United States.  It was established in 1864.    Daniel is a clinical professor, as well as the division chief of Oculo-Facial, Orbital, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at the University at Buffalo.

Sean Egan '75 started and runs a bond rating company.  He has been quoted regularly in the Wall Street Journal, and recently appeared on 60 Minutes.

Ronald A. Grimm Jr. ’75 has opened a 10,000 square foot high-end wine and spirits store in the new Dash's Plaza, approximately 1 ¼ miles east of Main St. on Transit Road in Clarence, NY.

Don L. Erb '76 is the director of residential facilities at the University at Buffalo.  He has been elected to a second term on the executive board of the Board of Governors, for the Washington, DC based Building Owners and Managers Association.

John P. O’Brian '77 and his wife, Catherine, are pleased to announce the birth of their son, William Frederick O’Brian, born February 21, 2007.

Edward G. Gruber '79 announced his engagement to Frances A. Robertson of San Antonio, TX.  The wedding is scheduled for summer 2009.

1980's

Charles Cavaretta '80 has been hired as director of business development in the Medicare Part B division of Buffalo Hospital Supply.

David P. Chameli '80 is the associate general counsel for the Sears Holdings Corporation.  He has been elected as a member of the governing board for Rainbows, an international not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to helping children and families cope with the grief and loss associated with death, divorce and other trauma.

Brian Borowski '84 has returned to Western New York after a 20-year hiatus, and has purchased two former AMF bowling centers.

Arthur Kwitchoff ’84 was featured in the Buffalo Business First Article "Town conjures images of famous headliners."  Arthur is involved in concert promotions in Buffalo, NY.

Timothy P. Martin '84 and his wife, Laura, are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Lily Katherine Martin, born August 8, 2008.

Alan Bookmiler '85 is serving with the 10th Mt. Division in Kabul, Afghanistan.

William Kellick '85 joined the U.S. delegation at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China.  He is the director of communications for USA Taekwondo.  He and his wife, Nancy, reside in Colorado Springs with their daughter, Jillian, and their son, Billy.

Andrew J. Mauer '85 was named “Best of the Hudson Valley 2008” by the Hudson Valley Magazine for his work as boys’ coach for both the Hudson River Rowing Association and Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Robert Bauer ’89 has been promoted to senior manager at Tronconi Segarra & Associates LLP, certified public accountants.

Thomas P. Cunningham '89 made a presentation on issues and trends in premises liability at a conference sponsored by the New York State Bar Association.  Tom is the managing partner at the law firm of Rupp, Baase, Pfalzgraf, Cunningham & Coppola, LLC.  The firm has 25 attorneys with offices in Buffalo, Amherst, and Rochester.

1990's

Thomas J. Sheehan '90 and his wife, Liz, are pleased to announce the birth of their twin daughters, Meghan and Maeve, born September 22, 2008.

Trent M. Voelkl '90 has been named a 2008 “40 Under 40” Award winner by Buffalo Business First.

John F. O’Donnell Jr '92 has been named a 2008 “40 Under 40” Award winner by Buffalo Business First

Brian Castner ’95 was featured in a Buffalo News article entitled "Religious Arts Center - Iraq vet helps save majestic Black Rock church."  Brian moved back to Buffalo, NY in 2007, and is the executive director of the Religious Arts Center.

Andrew Cianflone '95 and his wife, Laura, are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Tessa Cianflone, born September 27, 2008.

Adrian M. Turri ’95 announced his engagement to Jamie Sears.  The wedding is scheduled for July, 2009.

Michael J. Petri '96 was promoted to vice president of Summer Street Capital Partners LLC.

2000's

Timothy J. Altieri '00 has been named an associate with Cohen & Lombardo PC.  He will practice criminal and real estate law.  He received his degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Jeffrey T. Bagley ’01 is attending the University of Michigan Law School.  He is expected to graduate in December 2010.

Johnathan Graves '03 spent the summer of 2008 doing an internship in basketball operations for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association.  In his final year of his master’s program, Johnathan is a graduate assistant for external affairs and sports promotions in the Canisius College Athletic Department.

Matthew J. Chavez '04 graduated Cum Laude from Niagara University in 2008.  He received a scholarship to Drexel University School of Law in Philadelphia, PA.

Bergen Ackerman ’07 earned his second strait Admirals List Honors at SUNY Maritime College, Bronx, NY, for the Spring semester of his Freshman year.  Following his freshman year, Bergen continued into the Work/Study program at sea on the school's 565 foot ship, the Empire State IV, over a seven week term with stops in the Bahamas, Majorca, Spain, Liverpool, England and Toulon, France.

Cole Schneider '08 was a member of the Western hockey team at the 2008 Empire State Games.  Over the course of the tournament, Cole had five goals, including a hat trick against New York City, and two assists.
