Sgt. Tim Vergo '04 currently serving in Iraq

A world away from his roots, Town of Tonawanda native Sgt. Tim Vergo, a 2004 graduate of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, serves at an Iraqi base about 25 miles south of Baghdad. A paratrooper with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Vergo is amongst the United States soldiers assisting in the military training of the Iraqis. The goal is to have Iraqi troops prepared for America's impending withdrawal of its troops from the Middle East over the course of the next year.
