St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute, a Lasallian high school founded in 1861, is enthusiastically committed to a high standard of excellence. We are a private college preparatory school, fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and registered with the Board of Regents of the State of New York. We offer an exceptional academic program that includes 15 Advanced Placement opportunities that qualify our students for college credit. Each year, students take more than 300 AP exams with 80% scoring a 3 or better (out of 5). On average, more than 50 St. Joe’s students each year are named College Board AP Scholars for exceptional performance on AP exams. Upon completion of the required courseload, St. Joe’s students qualify for the basic NYS Regents diploma, and in recent years, close to 80% of our seniors have graduated with an Advanced or Honors designation for going above and beyond the required curriculum.
In addition to routinely being accepted into the nation’s most prestigious colleges and universities, St. Joe’s graduates have collectively earned an average of $13 million in scholarships and grants for each of the past five years. Our goal, through a highly personalized approach, is to help each and every student achieve his personal best and our track record is impressive. St. Joe’s is renowned for excellence not only in the classroom, but in athletics as well. For decades, the Marauders have been a dominant force in Western New York high school sports and the school has become synonymous with success on the fields of play. 16 sports are offered and teams are always in the thick of championship contention. To that regard, St. Joe’s has won the Supremacy Cup a remarkable 31 times, a feat no other school has come close to matching. The school also offers an extensive intramural sports program. In the tradition of Lasallian education, we are committed to developing the “whole” student. By graduation each student will have completed a minimum of 60 hours of service. Students are also encouraged to broaden their experience at St. Joe’s through participation in some of the over 40 extracurricular activities. The Fine Arts also hold an important place within the St. Joe’s academic program, offering students the opportunity to expand their knowledge and proficiency in the areas of the visual and performing arts.
